Berating someone for not living their life to their best potential or the "right" way, no matter how well intentioned you might be, will in no way get him to do what you want him to---even if it’s in his best interest. You will just piss him off.
No one wants to hear what he's doing isn’t good enough, or isn’t what he's supposed to be doing.
No one wants to answer to anyone else when he's living his life. How each of us live our lives shouldn't impact others, but they do, inevitably. It makes you think, how much of our lives is truly ours...to what degree are you living your life for you, as opposed to for others? At a second glance, so many past experiences and priorities seems to be the working of others on my life for whatever reason, good or ill intentioned. When does my happiness end and yours begin?
